Columbia Tap Trail Murals Project
Leadership Houston Class 44, in partnership with the Third Ward Cultural District and Project Row Houses, invites artists to apply for the opportunity to design and execute murals along the Columbia Tap Trail between Alabama Street and Elgin Street. Five murals will be commissioned reflecting history, community, and place.
The application deadline is February 28, 2026 at 11:59pm.
Project Scope
Five murals will be installed along a defined corridor of the Columbia Tap Trail between Alabama Street and Elgin Street in Houston’s Third Ward. The murals shall be installed on the trail path with a maximum footprint size of 10’x12’.

Artist Fees
Artist compensation is up to $5,000 per mural. This amount is inclusive of design and execution.
Project Timeline

Mural installation: March – April 2026
